# Failed to connect to the server

If you receive the error **"Failed to connect to the server"**, it means the loader cannot establish a secure connection to the Proofcore servers.

## Connection Troubleshooting

Please follow these steps to resolve network or file integrity issues:

  <Step title="Verify Loader Version">
    Ensure you are using the **latest version** of the loader. If you have an old file saved, delete it and download the most recent version from the **Downloads** section of the website.

  <Step title="Check Firewall and VPN">
    Network blocks are the most common cause of this error.

    * **Firewall:** Ensure the loader is not being blocked by your **Windows Firewall** or any third-party firewall software.
    * **VPN:** If you are using a VPN, try **disabling it** temporarily, as some VPN providers block necessary ports.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Restart Network Hardware">
    Restarting your network components can resolve temporary IP or routing issues.

    * **Restart your PC.**
    * **Restart your modem/router.** Unplug the power for 60 seconds before plugging it back in.

  <Step title="Use 1.1.1.1 VPN">
    Use the 1.1.1.1 VPN during the login procedure. Once you have successfully injected the cheat, you may turn it off.

  <Step title="Check for Downtime">
    The server may be temporarily offline for maintenance or an update.

    * Check the Proofcore **Discord** `#announcements` channel to see if there are currently any scheduled or unexpected downtimes.
