Pick the section below that matches your GPU brand. The steps differ between AMD and NVIDIA.
AMD GPUs
If you are running an AMD graphics card, use the AMD Adrenalin software to enable desktop recording.Install AMD Adrenalin

Open the Record & Stream Page
- Launch AMD Adrenalin.
- Click the Record & Stream button at the top of the window.
- Navigate to the Settings page within that section.

This is the key setting. Without it, the overlay will not appear in your recordings.
Switch Capture Source
- Click the Record tab.
- Find the Controls section.
- Change the source from Active Window to the display your game runs on.
NVIDIA GPUs
If you are running an NVIDIA graphics card, use the NVIDIA App with desktop capture enabled.Install the NVIDIA App
Download and install the latest NVIDIA App from the official site:
Download the NVIDIA App
Get the latest NVIDIA App
Enable the NVIDIA Overlay
- Open the NVIDIA App.
- Go to the Settings page.
- Enable the NVIDIA Overlay option.
Enable Desktop Capture
- Find the option labeled Video Capture.
- Click into it.
- Enable the Desktop Capture function.
Just like the AMD method, this tells the recorder to capture the entire desktop instead of only the game window — which is what allows the overlay to be seen in playback.
