By default, GPU recording software captures only the active game window, which excludes the Proofcore overlay. Enabling Desktop Capture allows the recording to include the ESP and all other on-screen visuals.
Pick the section below that matches your GPU brand. The steps differ between AMD and NVIDIA.

AMD GPUs

If you are running an AMD graphics card, use the AMD Adrenalin software to enable desktop recording.
1

Install AMD Adrenalin

Download and install the latest AMD Adrenalin software from the official site:

Download AMD Adrenalin

Get the latest AMD Adrenalin software
2

Open the Record & Stream Page

  1. Launch AMD Adrenalin.
  2. Click the Record & Stream button at the top of the window.
  3. Navigate to the Settings page within that section.
3

Enable Record Desktop

Toggle the Record Desktop option ON.
This is the key setting. Without it, the overlay will not appear in your recordings.
4

Switch Capture Source

  1. Click the Record tab.
  2. Find the Controls section.
  3. Change the source from Active Window to the display your game runs on.
5

Done

You can now configure the rest of your recording preferences (bitrate, resolution, hotkeys, etc.). The ESP and all other visuals will appear in your recordings.

NVIDIA GPUs

If you are running an NVIDIA graphics card, use the NVIDIA App with desktop capture enabled.
1

Install the NVIDIA App

Download and install the latest NVIDIA App from the official site:

Download the NVIDIA App

Get the latest NVIDIA App
2

Enable the NVIDIA Overlay

  1. Open the NVIDIA App.
  2. Go to the Settings page.
  3. Enable the NVIDIA Overlay option.
3

Open the Overlay

Press the default hotkey ALT + Z to open the NVIDIA Overlay.
If the hotkey does nothing, double-check that the overlay is enabled in the NVIDIA App settings, then restart the app.
4

Open Overlay Settings

Click the settings (gear) icon at the top of the overlay.
5

Enable Desktop Capture

  1. Find the option labeled Video Capture.
  2. Click into it.
  3. Enable the Desktop Capture function.
Just like the AMD method, this tells the recorder to capture the entire desktop instead of only the game window — which is what allows the overlay to be seen in playback.
6

Done

You can now adjust the rest of your recording settings as you like. Your ESP and all other visuals will now show up in your recordings.

Why This Is Required

The overlay is rendered outside the game window. Standard “Active Window” or “Game Capture” modes only record the game itself, which is why the ESP is invisible in your clips by default.Switching to Desktop Capture records everything on the screen — including the Proofcore overlay.

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure Desktop Capture (NVIDIA) or Record Desktop (AMD) is enabled — not just the regular game capture.
  • Confirm the correct monitor is selected as the capture source if you use a multi-monitor setup.
  • Restart the GPU software after changing the setting.
  • Re-open the NVIDIA App and verify NVIDIA Overlay is toggled ON.
  • Make sure no other application has hijacked ALT + Z.
  • Update the NVIDIA App to the latest version.
  • Update AMD Adrenalin to the latest version.
  • Old Radeon Software versions don’t include this feature — install Adrenalin instead.
